Sharmaine Chetty

Legal Secretary / Paralegal / TEFL Teacher
Amanzimtoti, Durban

Summary

I have 15 years + experience as a paralegal, my years of practice covers the various civil litigation, matrimonial, banking and commercial sectors of law, attending to inward and out going correspondence, briefing counsel and ensuring the court rule is in order for the presiding judge. I am proud to say that i have groomed many candidate attorney's with the practical training and teachings within the litigation sector. I have also had the privilege of working remotely for a period of 3 years and was able to work within the company portfolio efficiently. The faith and peace of mind my bosses had with me running their files and ensuring their daily tasks of diary management and court management was on point everyday made me driven and motivated individual. I enjoyed the experience and work well under pressure and fully understand the attention for detail. I am a team player and always ensuring that tasks on hand be it mine of a colleagues are dealt with and handled appropriately.

With all the above noted I am keen on teaching as it has always been my passion, I am never selfish with my knowledge and I believe that allowing the next person the opportunity to learn and me being the feeder of this knowledge is the greatest gift, i am here to guide, inspire and empower through my teaching.

I am excited to learn about the diversities of different cultures and countries while teaching and bonding with my students as they learn English.

In my free time, I enjoy reading fiction novels and cooking. I also enjoy painting for fun as  relaxer. I also try to research more about TEFL by reading teaching blogs to help prepare for working  in a classroom. At the moment, I am building up a bank of resources which I hope to use in  the future.
