Leadership and Change Management

Organizational Change implementation

· Organize finance training programs for Officers and Employees both at Headquarters and Unit level (Division, Corps and Institutions).

· Work closely with the IFAS Global Project Team to ensure the solution is consistent with processes in the local Country. Identify any potential differences. Where issues and differences are identified, raise these with the IFAS Global Project Team and work to ensure the implementation is well executed.
· Provide mentoring, support and training to all Headquarters stakeholders. Actively encourage the following groups through communication and encouragement:
o Finance personnel transitioning to the NetSuite system.
o Non-finance personnel impacted by the new system for approval of expenses, management of budgets etc.
o Secretary for Business Administration for understanding and support with implementation and approvals.
o Country Leadership for understanding of approval structures and all reporting outputs.
· Participate in and inspire the IFAS Software Country Steering Committee to be the active change driver.
· Manage the IFAS NetSuite “go live” process including completing and following up all official IFAS documentation required for sign-off by Leadership and by International Head Quarters.
· Perform handover activities to other project personnel, e.g. testers, to ensure the requirements and proposed solution design are clearly understood and agreed.
· Act as post implementation support provider.
· Use gained knowledge and experience from the Head Quarters implementation to prepare for deployment of the IFAS NetSuite and budget/reporting software to lower levels (Divisions, Corps and Institutions) within the Country. Repeat above processes to stage the wider rollout.

· Deals with SARS directly with respect to the registration of Income Tax and VAT returns on efiling for the entire Salvation Army’ platform and maintain compliance.
Leadership:

Accounting and financial controls:
· Supervise the financial system, ensuring maximum productivity and that it meets the needs of today’s business and for the future.
· Supervise the continuous improvement of accounting and financial processes and the development of the finance team with the goal to achieve best practices and optimal output.
· Authorising the EFT payments for the entire Salvation Army’ platform.
· Manage the insurance Claims for all our assets including, Motor Vehicles, Buildings and Computer laptops etc.
· Develop and oversee accounting policies and procedures to meet both current and future business models.
· Support the external audit, and review and analyse results and recommend to the CFO the audited financial statements.
· Support the International Headquarters’ audit, review and analyse the results.
Management reporting
· Responsible for financial management reporting for Territorial Headquarters in Southern Africa.
· Report to CFO any significant financial issues.
· Develop regular reporting and analysis including key metrics reports and conduct ad hoc financial analysis as required.
· Ensure financial management reporting tools and processes are in place to support the ongoing and future needs of The Salvation Army.
· Prepare monthly and quarterly management reporting package.
· Maintain the International Headquarters’ auditing reports.
· Produce the annual financial statements using Business Intelligence Support (BIS) and submit to International Headquarters (IHQ) in London.
Budgeting
· Assist with the annual business plan development and budgeting process.
· Provide on-going financial modelling and analysis expertise to all departments in THQ.
· Participate in financial modelling and analysis to support the development of long term strategic initiatives and business plans.
PARTICIPATIVE IN THE BOARD LEVEL.
Ø An active member of the two board of directors, General Expenditure (GEB) and Territorial Finance Council (TFC).
Ø Assist in the cutting costs of all the expenditures the organisation is incurring.
Ø Approve the payments requisitions with other board members after careful consideration was done regarding the expenditure.
Ø Advise the board members of the inflow and outflow of Cash within the Salvation Army which will impact negatively or positively towards the Investors, Suppliers, Customers and any other stakeholders within the organisation.

Finance department
· Making sure that the entire Organisation is using the Donor Funds in accordance by following PEPFAR the United State (Presidency Emergency Plan for Aids Release).
· Involved in the whole monthly process and making sure that Billing, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Inventory modules get closed at the end of the reporting period.
· Working hand in hand with the Financial Analysts from Washington DC on the daily basis and even conduct a conference call to clarify issues which are not resolved within the platform.
· Daily Inventory Reconciliation and Monthly Recon and submit to PSI Washington on the Monthly basis.
· Controlling the movement of Stock Value to the General Ledger module by Coordinating with the Production Manager of the Company.
· Performing the monthly Management Pack reports and send to the management.
· Working with the external auditors and interpret the financial statements to the management after been issued by the auditors.
· Drafting the budget with other committee members for all the departments before implementation.
Supply Chain Management
· Implement new and improved supply chain processes.

Key Achievements include:
Ø Attended the Workshop in Kenya (Nairobi) and attained the Certificate of Global Inventory Management. This workshop was attended by various candidates from various countries including Washington DC, Zambia, Uganda and many more countries. The focus was primarily on Global Warehousing and Logistics from the point of Receiving stock in the warehouse, Production, Transfer, Distribution and Customer Return.
We have dealt with everything concerning Warehouse (all the documents that are necessary for Audit Trial), Stock (Physical and all the movement of stock in the system and making sure that they are in sync at the end of every month by way of Reconciliation, Customer Relation Management up to the point of Sale. Here the focus was in JIS (Just in Time System), getting the product to the Customer at the right time, right place, right quantity and with the right cost.

Ø Attended the Workshop with the Managers of other Countries and achieved the Certificate of Supply Chain management.
