I also have knowledge of what clinical research entails, in terms of day-to-day work and flexibility of mind, which would help me to anticipate and overcome problems and periods of stress. I know that I would be expected to have a good standard of education and other relevant qualifications. I have a sound basic science background, a medical degree, previous relevant clinical experience as a doctor, a relevant undergraduate degree and postgraduate research experience. My aim is to show the world what South Africa has to offer in terms of medical research and to utilise our own biobanks to their full potential.
