  • Cost Management: Evaluate and negotiate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors for auxiliary equipment, eg: Variable Speed Drives; Soft Starters; Panels; Transformers; Surge Arresters, Encoders, Transmitter, RTDs, LV and MV switch gear, Bearings and Electrical Installations etc
  • Site Audits: Conduct measurements, analysis of sites including agronomic considerations to ensure mechanical/electrical interchangeability or suitability of solutions to be proposed.
  • Engineering: Responsible for engineering calculations using WEGs software tools like FDC, Assom VC, and other inhouse design software tools

  • My 15 years experience includes: WEG South Africa as Inside Sales on LV Variable Speed Drives & Automation equipment. As a result of my exceptional performance I was promoted within 1year 8 months to the position of Project Sales Engineer with key roles in business development and sales of LV/HV equipment. This role entailed account management of various engineering consulting companies, project houses, energy and water utilities. Two years later I was promoted to the proposals department with the aim of fulfiling a more techncial role as a Proposals Engineer on LV and HV electric motors, which included application engineering/ design of LV and HV motors up to 50 000kW. Due to my experience on Variable Speed Drives I also quoted on combined motor an VSD RFQS for LV & HV equipment. In September 2017 I was tasked by the executive board of WEG South Africa to establish a Sales Support department whose responsibility was to conduct Sales Analysis, reporting structures for the African operations, pricing structures for all stocked products, LV motors, Drives & Switchgear, management of all the companies TCO, Distributor, Consignment and OEM/ Framework agreements across South Africa. Today I have established this department and have 3 Sales Analysis who are qualified engineers and 1 marketing/business staff who assist with all the above tasks.
