During this period I assisted a local travel company, my tasks were:

• Planning our new trips and itineraries.
• Making bookings.
• Building an exhibition in Cape Town that showcased our recent trips.

In Tanzania, I volunteered for six weeks in Arusha Primary Integrated School. My tasks were:

• Teaching science, healthcare and french to several grades.
• Being creative, thinking outside of the box and coming up with exiting new subjects to teach.
• Joining medical outreach programs, where I worked as a pharmacist alongside doctors to provide medical care.

After my wonderful time in Arusha, I traveled to Bagamoyo to help in Bagamoyo District Hospital for two weeks.

• I worked in the CTC clinic, administering medication to HIV patients.
• I helped examining blood and urine samples from patients, with the aid of rapid tests.

These opportunities in Tanzania highlighted my passion for helping the community and immersing myself in a new culture.

During this internship at Urban Harvest Edible Gardens, I was involved in tasks such as:

• Supporting staff members in their daily tasks such as building new community gardens, planting new vegetables and maintaining the gardens.
• Maintaining community gardens at schools.
• Organizing sustainability classes in schools (Mary Kihn School for hearing impaired children).
• Giving ideas to improve sustainability.
