1. Infrastructure Programme and Project initiation, planning and monitoring in line with IDMS.

  • Collect information and provide inputs to the Procurement Strategy, Infrastructure Programme Management Plan [IPMP] and updating of the plan.

  • Establish communication structure with IA for stakeholder on the project.
  • Review and monitor the development of the Concept and Feasibility within the agreed brief.

2. Infrastructure Programme and Project Implementation and Monitoring.

  • Monitor the implementation of Programmes and Projects by the Implementing Agents [IA] and the adherence to the Service Delivery Agreements.
  • Review of contract project programme from IA and monitoring project performance against departmental targets.
  • Attend to regular status meetings with the project team and conduct periodic inspection visits at project construction site(s).
  • Compile monthly and weekly project progress reports for internal reporting.
  • Review and recommend authorization of payments in line with the conditions of the appointments, contract management practices and within financial delegations.
  • Review and recommend Variation Orders in terms of contract management practice and financial implications from IA.
  • Monitor the strict adherence to the budgetary guidelines as well as project management, quality and safety standards.
  • Manage relationships at various levels with the relevant project stakeholders and partners, in accordance with the project’s development objectives.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations for project deliverables, communications and implementing effective systems of project governance, within the team and with strategic partners, both internally and externally.

3. Project commissioning
