Summary

A highly motivated and skilled PIT Geologist with experience in performing geological fieldwork, and data analysis. Proficient in utilizing Surpac, Sable, Trimble Realworks, Model Maker, Arc GIS, GCDkit, OMS, LIMS software, exposure to Leapfrog Geo and Minesched. Strong analytical skills and effective communication are my strenghts which contribute to successful project delivery. I hold an MSc in Applied Geology from the University of the Western Cape, focusing on the Characterization of lower crust and upper mantle xenoliths in kimberlites. Passionate about researching and obtaining new-found geological and mineralogical data which adds knowledge to the diverse field of earth science and the mining industry in particular.

  • Used geological knowledge and expertise in characterizing and determining Fairbreeze units with the aim of establishing the stratigraphy of the locality,
  • Compared mineralogical techniques (QEMSCAN vs XRD) on FBB geological units,
  • Management of geological database which includes GPS surveys for floor, bedrock, Grab Samples (GRBs) and Monitor Guns,
  • Performed reconciliation and monthly depletion of Fairbreeze-orebody,
  • Conducted geological mapping of exposed bedrock and ground water levels with the intent of updating the geological model.
  • Worked with Mine Planning and Survey Team where I gained knowledge on how to create Block Model constraints using Surpac, DTM creations, Depletions, Recon and the use of Trimble Real-Works and Model Maker to process survey data obtained in the field of Mine Survey,
  • Established strong relationships with contractors through consistent communication, leading to increased trust and long-term partnership
  • Developed comprehensive reports that communicated complex geological concepts to non-technical audiences effectively.
  • Conducted ore characterization using physical, mineralogical and bulk analysis (major elements) with the aim of predicting processing behavior and extraction methods.
  • Provided geological information to metallurgist to adjust processing plants for different ore-types, with the aim of improving recoveries and reducing costs,
  • Ensured adherence to safety protocols during fieldwork, minimizing incidents and fostering a culture of safety.
  • Participated in field investigations, collecting vital geological samples for laboratory analysis and interpretation.
  • Assisted geology PITs while completing site suitability studies over course of project.

  • Assisted with the preparation of laboratory samples and the use of QEMSCAN for mineralogical characterization,
  • Conducted regular reviews of operations and identified areas for improvement
  • Provided reporting for forecast analysis and ad-hoc reporting in support of decision-making.
  • Conducted regular reviews of operations and identified areas for improvement.
  • Generated reports detailing findings and recommendations.
