Summary
Patient-driven junior doctor with 18 months experience in a mental health care unit. My intention is to immerse myself and grow in the psychiatric department, learning to confidently identify and treat multiple conditions using a multi-disciplinary and patient centred approach. I am currently a medical officer in psychiatry at Bheki Mlangeni District hospital. I have plans to write my DMH for psychiatry in 2024 and hopefully get into an academic program, where I can further my passion.

During my internship, I rotated through the main disciplines gaining holistic clinical and diagnostic skills, but developed an affinity and interest for the psychiatry discipline. During my community service year, I spent the first 6 months in internal medicine and the latter in the emergency department which gave me exposure to the acute presentations and treatment of psychiatric patients as well as a host of other conditions.
