Karl Bremer Hospital:

Pediatrics and Neonatology:

• 12 hour Day and 12 - 16 hour Night Shifts functioning as the only Senior Pediatrician on site.

Emergency Centre:

• 10 - 12 hour Day and Night Shifts.

Employed Full Time for 6 months to cover for 2 overlapping Permanent Medical Officers on Maternity Leave as one of the Senior Emergency Medicine Medical Officers.

Pediatrics:

• Duration: 6 months
• Responsibilities: 240 - 260 hours/month working daily as one of the four Senior Pediatric Medical Officers, as well as the only Pediatric Medical Officer on site after hours; assessing, diagnosing, treating (including procedures such as phlebotomy, intravenous and intraosseous access, radiological interpretations, administration of surfactant, etc), stabilizing (including Neonatal Resuscitation, intubation, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, fluid resuscitation, etc) and referring appropriately, covering the Ward of up to 40 Patients, Neonatal Unit of up to 20 Patients, 24 hour Caesarean Section Theatre, complicated Labour Ward Deliveries, Pediatric Outpatient Department and Pediatric Emergency Unit.

Emergency Centre:

• Duration: 6 months
• Responsibilities: 240 - 260 hours/months working as one of the Senior Medical Officers, assessing, diagnosing, treating (including procedures such as phlebotomy, peripheral and central venous access, invasive monitoring, radiological interpretations, intercostal drain insertion, suprapubic catheter insertion, suturing, etc), stabilizing (including resuscitation and intubation and ventilation, etc) and referring appropriately any presentations to the Emergency Centre, including Pediatric, in a 4 Bed Resuscitation and up to over 100 Patient Emergency Unit.

General Surgery:

Length: 3 months

Disciplines: Neurosurgery, Breast and Endocrine, Acute Care, Hepatobiliary, Urology, Colorectal, Vascular and Trauma Surgery, as well as Trauma Unit

Pediatrics:

Length: 3 months

Disciplines: Neonatology (1 month), Pediatric Endocrinology (1 month) and General Pediatrics (1 month)

Obstetrics and Gynecology:

Length: 3 months

Disciplines: Gynecology (6 weeks) and Obstetrics (6 weeks)

Anesthesiology:

Cases: Conscious Sedation, Local, Regional, Spinal, Epidural and General Anesthesia as well as independently covering the Post Anesthetic High Care Unit overnight
