The unmet need for surgery globally, has led to the rapidly developing emerging
field of global surgery, which has emphasized that surgical services are the key
elements of a properly functioning healthcare system and thus a prerequisite
for accessibility of universal health. This has been my inspiration to pursue a career that
will make the realization of excellency in Global surgery a reality through international
collaboration. This is with the aim to increase surgical services and procedures in Sub
Saharan Africa, of which Cardiothoracic Surgical services are in dire need.

Involved in more than 500 adult cardiac cases with more than 120 cases as the primary surgeon
