  • Reverse engineering of locomotive components using measuring tools, such as vernier caliper, distance laser meter, ruler and other tools.
  • Designed mounting brackets for the Electro Pneumatic Control(ECP's) components for the 23E locomotives.
  • Draughtsman of Product Development Locomotives department. Creating detail 2D drawings using Creo parametric of the new designs.
  • Designed and managed manufacturing processes of the muffler box used on Trans Africa Locomotive(TAL) 002. I led the project from the beginning until the muffler box was installed and tested if works and complies with standards.
  • Conducted a Non Destructive-Test on the manufactured muffler box to make sure all the welds are up to the standards.
  • Conducted structural integrity assessment of the new designed stand of the 1000 liters water tank, to assess if it complies with SANS standards.
  • Designed and conducted FEA analysis of an air duct for cooling radiators, and a six-axis testing machine for determining wear-plate mechanical properties.
  • Coordinated with procurement department by supplying them with detail drawings to get quality and correct locomotive parts.
