- Maintain high awareness while performing duties and report any security deficiencies during inspections, checks, and patrol to the ship command and MS Operations room
- Perform a ship security assessment with emphasis on the vessel's vulnerable and sensitive points (limited visibility areas, possible pathways for intruders, attacks
- Report any security anomalies to the ship command (Master/SSO), main emphasis given to any sign of tampering with the containers, or breach to the restricted areas of the vessel
- Raise the vessel's crew's security awareness by performing briefings, training, and drills regarding possible security incidents and threats, subject to Master's approval
- Report to MS Ops about any security incidents as soon as possible, with the best possible mean of communication, while using the recording equipment provided (action camera, CCTV, Thermal camera, etc.') to evidence the incident the best they can
- Ensure MS SOP are implemented and maintain a close cooperation with the ship command supporting the enforcement of the Ship Security Plan (SSP)
- Ensure that all security equipment is operated correctly, stored, maintained, and handed over to the next team or agent as per MS Ops instructions
- Update the ship command about the recent incidents in their rotation and advise about the precautions and measures necessary to secure the vessel
- Prevent, by any means necessary, any attempt to board the vessel by unauthorized persons (Stowaways, robbers, pirates, etc.)
- Prevent, in any way possible, drug traffickers/smugglers from using the vessel as a trafficking tool
- Support the gangway operation during port stay by performing security inspection on any individual, including his belongings, who wishes to embark on the vessel (except local authorities)
- Report to MS Ops and the ship command about any anomalies during the K9 operation and the underwater inspection
