I am a versatile IT Manager with skills ranging from installation and configuration of servers, switches, firewalls and desktops. With over 20 years of experience behind me, detailed networking knowledge, I have designed LANs, WLANS, Security, VOIP, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, Exchange environments and Google Workspace Admin rights which has helped me optimise my IT experience. On the server side, I have worked with various Back-up & Recovery technologies (Acronis, Windows Server Backup, Norton), Virtualization technologies (VM Ware, Hyper-V) as well as Firewalls (Netgear, IPCop, Zyxel, Mikrotik, Sophos). I have worked with large and small organisations and have experience with technologies that match their requirements and affability. This includes an end to end IT landscape spanning Servers, Desktops, Security Encryption, Remote Assistance. I have worked with end-users and first-line support technicians both physically, telephonically and virtually. This experience has honed my ability to work well under pressure and keep all parties calm while providing a sense of confidence which can be seen as a significant asset. I am able to translate the complexity of a problem into the language that an end-user can relate to. In my most recent role, I started out as the only IT staff member and enabled a staff count of 70 people in total. This quickly grew into a team of 8 staff members whom I manage, and together we enable a staff count of over 1000 users.
