Assistant financial analyst assist in recording and producing accurate and meaningful financial data and business analysis of the manufacturing system and profitability of the operation within the set deadlines. Financial analysis of budgetary data and financial planning also forms part of the daily duties.

Duties:

• Prepare detailed monthly reports to inform decision-making processes.
• Preparation of financial statements, quarterly forecasting, yearly budget and cash flow forecast.
• Identifying operations financial status by comparing and analysing actual results with budget and quarterly forecasts.
• Determining cost of the operations by establishing standard costs / product costing and collecting operational data.
• Improving financial status by analysing results, monitoring and investigating material usages and identifying trends.
• Prepare reports, presentations and correspondence containing descriptive, analytical and evaluative content related to budgetary and financial management.
• Fully utilizes the capabilities and functions of standard and specialized office software applications such as powerpoint presentations, excel spreadsheets and word processing in completing assigned projects.
• Participate in preparation for the annual audits and resolve internal and external audit queries.

• Preparation of weekly forecast by analysing key performance indicators, key variances and include meaningful commentary.
• Resolving queries from head-office and assist with adherence to good governance.
• Maintaining and updating bill of materials of all finished good products.
• Cost revaluation of raw material and maintenance spares stock on hand.
• Verification of weekly stock counts and entering variances of stock counts.
• Reconciliation of raw material stock received over weighbridge to financial software.
• Verification and maintenance of Fixed Asset Register.

Completing my South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) articles / training at Sentinel auditors and accountants that merged with PriceWaterhouse Coopers (PWC) on 1 January 2013.
