Medical Doctor MB,ChB (Stel); BSc (Stel); DA (SA); FCA (1)
03 Dovedale Way, Pinelands, Cape Town

Summary

I am a Medical Doctor with a Bachelor Of Science Degree In Physiology (with Psychology).

I have a total of four years of experience in Anaesthesia and currently serve as a permanent Medical Officer in the Department of Anaesthesia at Khayelitsha District Hospital, a position I have held since July 2022. Prior to this I completed my training in Anaesthesia at Mitchells Plain district Hospital, under the auspices of Dr John Roos, where I worked as a Supernumerary Medical Officer for six months. I obtained the Diploma in Anaesthesia in January 2021 which provided me with the opportunity to locum, in Anaesthesia, at various hospitals across the Western Cape. Additionally, I achieved the FCA(1) in July 2024.

During my community service, I dedicated a total of four months to the Mossel Bay Hospital Emergency Centre and various clinics within the subdistrict.

With the experience I have gained thus far, I am eager to further expand my knowledge in the field of Anaesthesia.

Furthermore, I served as the investigator for the ASOS-Paeds trial at Eerste River Hospital and Khayelitsha District Hospital from 2022 to 2023 (Investigator details: kaskar_za_wc_eersteriver).

Additionally, I assisted with a Master’s research project alongside a Paediatric Surgery Registrar at Red Cross Children’s Hospital and I am interested in participating in additional research projects in the future.

I am a highly motivated, enthusiastic, and approachable professional with a positive attitude and a passion for teaching and building strong relationships. My warm and friendly demeanour enables me to create a welcoming atmosphere in the workplace while remaining focused on achieving results. As a married individual who values family, I strive to maintain a healthy and balanced lifestyle.
