Teaching and mentoring in the foundation phase and in higher Institution level Research Inclination: Understanding the education and development of children in their natural settings (preschool and foundation Phase), evaluating children’s development and analyzing classroom interactions and learning experiences of children in the preschool and primary school settings. Understanding children’s school readiness and planning suitable learning and social intervention programs for children. Worked with children, their caregivers and teachers in two African countries, to understand how children learn and the nature of their interactions and experiences in the preschool and primary classroom settings. Teacher Education and Classroom Practices Special interest in the most vulnerable population (refugees, immigrants and other marginalized population). Developed an observation schedule for classroom observation with refugee children in the South African context Firm theoretical and empirical understanding of children’s development Presented at international conferences. Facilitated programs on academic excellence and career choices for secondary and higher institution students. Postdoctoral Fellow with 3 years in fellowship at the University of Kwazulu-Natal, South Africa. Organized research and presentations, educating students, peers and superiors on research analysis. Published research findings through peer-reviewed articles and analyzed results tailoring to possible future applications.
