Summary

Experienced Community Service Medical Officer with experience in organization and transformation to lead change aimed at operational effectiveness and efficiency. This include, inter alia, trans-discplinary team engagement, instituting booking system for OPD and ANC, and de-bulking the emergency unit to eliminate longer patient waiting time, improve quality of patient care, and decrease patient discontent and disputes. Moreover, to improve employee effectiveness, performance and wellness in the process such that quality care can be provided to our patients.

There is special interest in continuous medical education to drive evidence based medicine and improve quality of care and patient outcome, this form the basis of my research interest and field. This included establishing CME platforms onsite and invitation of guest speakers with discipline expertise.

Hold obstetric and Gynecology experience through working in Maternity and establishing Gynecology Clinic every friday to support proper investigations and referral to the specialist hospital. Furthermore, I hold surgical skills in caesarian sections, BTL, and laparotomy for ectopic pregnancies, circumcision, amongst others.

Also hold experience of working in general ward dealing with variety of pathology and engaging with variety of specialist from various referral institutions. Amongst other function was revolutionizing evidence based medical care at rural district level in the institution. Moreover, engaged the team to envisage continuous learning environment.

Coordinated daily allocation of clinicians on the floor and provided voluntary time for unpaid overtime to continue patient care and institutional functionality.

This include, inter alia, improving relations between functions involved in patient care delivery, cementing patient centered care across all the function, and introduction of a prompt referral system for trans-disciplinary referral.
  • Introduced operational efficiency and effectiveness measures across clinical disciplines to improve service delivery thereby, reducing patient waiting time and discontent. This includes, inter alia, introduction of a booking system for OPD and ANC, through interrelations between management of the district hospital and the feeding primary health facilities.
