PRIYANKA RAMLALL

I am a dedicated and versatile Grade 5 teacher at Madressa Shoukatul Islam, with experience teaching a broad range of subjects across grade 4 to 7. I deliver engaging, curriculum-aligned lessons in Social Sciences (History and Geography), Life Skills (including Personal and Social Well-being), Life Orientation, Islamic Studies, Economic and Management Sciences, Creative Arts and Physical Education.

I manage classroom behavior effectively by establishing clear expectations, modeling appropriate conduct, and consistently enforcing established rules and consequences.

My responsibilities include lesson planning, effective classroom delivery, assessment and reporting and supporting learners' holistic development. Passionate about fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment where learners are encouraged to think critically, grow confidently, and achieve their full potential.

• I have completed voluntary teaching work at Kenville Primary School, where I worked under the guidance of a mentor teacher to develop and refine my skills in teaching English. My responsibilities included planning and delivering English lessons for Grades 4 to 7, with a focus on developing learners' reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills.
• In addition to my teaching duties, I lead the Green Buddies Environmental Club. This role involved educating learners on key environmental concepts and issues, promoting sustainability, and guiding them through hands-on activities and awareness campaigns. I have also prepared learners for a school-wide Spelling Bee competition, helping to enhance their vocabulary, spelling, and confidence in public speaking.
• I regularly assisted teachers by relieving them of teaching duties, providing support where needed, and contributing to a collaborative and positive school environment.
