PRIYANKA RAMLALL

I am currently completing voluntary teaching work at Kenville Primary School, where I work under the guidance of a mentor teacher to develop and refine my skills in teaching English. My responsibilities include planning and delivering English lessons for Grades 4 to 7, with a focus on developing learners’ reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills.

In addition to my teaching duties, I lead the Green Buddies Environmental Club. This role involves educating learners on key environmental concepts and issues, promoting sustainability, and guiding them through hands-on activities and awareness campaigns. I am also preparing learners for a school-wide Spelling Bee competition, helping to enhance their vocabulary, spelling, and confidence in public speaking.

I regularly assist teachers by relieving them of teaching duties, providing support where needed, and contributing to a collaborative and positive school environment.

• Promoted 21st century learning skills by designing lessons that integrated educational technology, encouraged inquiry-based learning, and supported both group collaboration and individualized support.
• Taught 10 ICT-integrated lessons across Mathematics, English HL, Social Sciences, Natural Science, and Economics Management Sciences, utilizing interactive technology such as Smartboards, Kahoot, Quizziz and Google Forms to enhance digital engagement, formative assessment and critical thinking.
• Increased student participation by incorporating group activities and peer feedback sessions.
• Designed and implemented a Social Action Project on sustainability, where learners created eco-bricks to build a school structure. This project fostered real-world problem-solving, collaboration, and environmental responsibility.
• Championed a growth mindset culture within the classroom, inspiring students to embrace challenges and persevere through obstacles in pursuit of their academic goals.

• Supported Intermediate Phase exam invigilation, ensuring a secure, fair, and orderly testing environment in compliance with school protocols.
