I am responsible for the development, implementation, and management of Programme delivery in all the provinces of implementation. In addition, I also provide support to the development and management of other projects and Programmes within Seriti. The Programme had been nominated to run a Public Employment Programme, National Youth Services ((NYS), which required us to provide employment opportunities to 3000 youth nationally

Duties:

  • Provide inputs into key strategic opportunities and implement Seriti’s strategic plan.

The organization was implementing an OVCY program called ReACH and as a community Linkage Officer, I have been responsible to liaise with all the relevant stakeholders. The program supports the Department of Health in implementing the the95-95-95 South African National Strategic Plan, specifically with children and youth. It also supports the children holistically, looking at all the aspects of life and needs including health and their social wellbeing, putting emphasis on those that are made vulnerable due to TB/HIV, and preaching adherence to those that are on ART.

Duties:

  • Present the program to all the relevant departments/ stakeholders of the Chris Hani District.
  • Coordinate the tracking of HIV defaulters and play part in their re-initiation to treatment.
  • Promote treatment adherence to the HIV positive who are on ART and monitor initiation to those that have tested positive
  • Provide oversight, guidance, and support including coordinating program activities and working closely with stakeholders.
  • Support in implementation of sustainable Pediatric care and OVC linkages within health care facilities, Department of Social Work with CBOs (Community Based Organizations), and community structures to provide quality care services to child-headed families, OVC, and their primary caregivers.
  • Form part of the discussions around program improvement
  • Coordinate awareness campaigns collaborating with DOH and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Educate and train Community care workers and beneficiaries on HIV and other opportunistic infections (TB) treatment adherence and other health-related issues.
  • Ensure provision of psychosocial support to clients infected by HIV, and monitoring their viral load suppression working closely with Health facilities.
  • Liaise with relevant stakeholders in the implementation of HIV prevention programs and Sexual Reproduction Health programs.
