I am responsible for the development, implementation, and management of Programme delivery in all the provinces of implementation. In addition, I also provide support to the development and management of other projects and Programmes within Seriti. The Programme had been nominated to run a Public Employment Programme, National Youth Services ((NYS), which required us to provide employment opportunities to 3000 youth nationally

Duties:

• Provide inputs into key strategic opportunities and implement Seriti’s strategic plan.
• Participate in management and staff meetings.
• Provide input to Board meeting reports.
• Provide input in the development of organizational policies, systems, and procedures.
• Conceptualizing key strategic projects
• Manage the implementation of the Programme Ensuring that objectives and deadlines of the Programme implementation are timorously met.
• Assist with the facilitation of the induction and training sessions at sites, before project commencement.
• Evaluate training needs on an ongoing basis and implement interventions to address gaps.
• Formulating activities and managing the implementation of the activities within clear time frames
• Administering the creation of work opportunities for 3000 youth nationally by implementing the aRe Bapaleng ECD Parental support programme.
• Provide guidance in the creation of work opportunities within the Programme
• Provide support a team of Coordinators who are responsible for the implementation of the Programme on sites.
• Undertake project planning, evaluation and quality assurance; review progress, Programme budget and completion of reports.
• Reviewing of project plans regularly to ensure tasks and milestones are being achieved in a timely manner
• Prepare and present reports on the programme and related projects as may be required for donors, stakeholders, the Seriti Board of Directors, and internal team members
• Ensure that financial management and other procedures are effectively implemented throughout programme implementation.
• Integrating and managing a public Employment Programme that provides work opportunities to 3000 youth, nationally.

• Assess clients /applicant for eligibility of nutritional support as part of social relief of distress program for lockdown

• Implement recommended intervention continuous assessment, counseling, guidance, and advice to affected individuals, groups, and families

The organization was implementing an OVCY program called ReACH and as a community Linkage Officer, I have been responsible to liaise with all the relevant stakeholders. The program supports the Department of Health in implementing the the95-95-95 South African National Strategic Plan, specifically with children and youth. It also supports the children holistically, looking at all the aspects of life and needs including health and their social wellbeing, putting emphasis on those that are made vulnerable due to TB/HIV, and preaching adherence to those that are on ART.

Duties:

• Present the program to all the relevant departments/ stakeholders of the Chris Hani District.
• Coordinate the tracking of HIV defaulters and play part in their re-initiation to treatment.
• Promote treatment adherence to the HIV positive who are on ART and monitor initiation to those that have tested positive
• Provide oversight, guidance, and support including coordinating program activities and working closely with stakeholders.
• Support in implementation of sustainable Pediatric care and OVC linkages within health care facilities, Department of Social Work with CBOs (Community Based Organizations), and community structures to provide quality care services to child-headed families, OVC, and their primary caregivers.
• Form part of the discussions around program improvement
• Coordinate awareness campaigns collaborating with DOH and other relevant stakeholders.
• Educate and train Community care workers and beneficiaries on HIV and other opportunistic infections (TB) treatment adherence and other health-related issues.
• Ensure provision of psychosocial support to clients infected by HIV, and monitoring their viral load suppression working closely with Health facilities.
• Liaise with relevant stakeholders in the implementation of HIV prevention programs and Sexual Reproduction Health programs.
• Establishing strong working relations with the District AIDS Council and 5 of its sub-district structures including government departments, civil society and all other relevant stakeholders

• Duties:
• Promote and work to expand community services capacity in the care and support of OVCs, their primary caregivers, and immediate communities for orphans and children made vulnerable due to HIV&AIDS/TB
• Implement sustainable Paediatric care and OVC linkages within health care facilities, the Department of Social Development, CBOs (Community Based Organizations), and community structures to provide quality care services to child-headed families, OVC, and their primary caregivers
• Strength implementation of quality OVC services through capacity building for program partners
• Promote HIV status knowledge to all the OVCS and their primary caregivers, by encouraging them to get tested through referrals to Health facilities and community-based campaigns with the Department of Health
• Encourage adherence to those that have been tested HIV positive and have been initiated on ART, for viral suppression
• Conduct and co-facilitate training and mentor CBOs’ community workers that are in partnership with Africare with different stakeholders
• Provide technical support to community institutions/ CBOs on grants management and program activities reported in the catchment areas

• Working with stakeholders in training and community advocacy and implementing OVC services in Inxuba Yethemba Sub District

• To gather some experience in my qualification as a, , I got an opportunity to be placed under one of the leading Community-Based Organizations in East London (Masibambisane HCBC) under the Diocese of Grahams Town Developmental Trust
• There is several programs run by the organization, including a program for Orphaned and Vulnerable Children (OVC), H.I.V/AIDS programs, and many other programs, and I have been strongly involved in the OVC program conducted and funded by Africare

• Monitor Caregivers with the identification of O.V

• Assist them with filling in the OVC Identification forms, which include household vulnerability screening forms, child’s assessment forms, Child’s care plan, and service provision forms
• Intervene on cases that need Social work intervention after the caregivers have identified them

• At a trading company I worked for, I gained what I can refer to as alien but exciting experience which involved a lot of travelling
• Since the company was handling a project of small-scale fishers’ registration, I was responsible for collecting participants’ information in every way possible to make sure that it doesn’t by any chance get lost
