  • Used SMED methodology to achieve quick tool changeover. Reduced changeover time from 45 min-to-35 min. Thus, increased production time by 22%.
  • Analyze the assembly process using 3-STD documents with the aim of eliminating waste. Resulted in the changed layout, thus reduced area space from 5.7m x 1.75 m to a one- piece flow that occupies 5.7 m. This resulted in reduction of cycle times from 41.85 s/part to 29.84 s/part and hourly throughput increased from 86 units/input hr.-to-120 units/input hr
  • Implemented pattern production for the injection molding machine. This resulted in minimized material purging, shift pattern changed from 96.75 hrs./wk-To 84 hrs./wk.; thus, achieving the save of 12.75hrs./wk.
  • Practiced line balancing by dividing work elements amongst operators evenly to achieve parallel operation. This Increased hourly throughput, the line effectiveness increased from 57% to 81% within 1 month.
  • Implemented material flow & material handling strategies by establishing Min-Max for each part on the Assembly Line.
  • Standardized the supply & handling of material from the “internal” supplier & implemented the WIP Stock sheet & stock holding policy. This resulted in reduction of external short shipment from 17%/month-to-6%/month, thus, increasing supplier performance by 11%.
