  • Assist Environmental Specialist in ensuring safe, efficient and economic running of all Environmental activities for the Region.
  • Ensure compliance to all environmental authorizations, permits and licenses and ensure records are kept for inspections by Regulators.
  • Liaise constructively and consult with employees, peers, Independent Contractors and Suppliers, in order to ensure the development and maintenance of environmental standards.

  • Maintain communication flow to and from the SHEP department and other departments and create a positive Environmental awareness.
  • Provide assistance to the Environmental Specialist in monitoring Environmental permit conditions for all the sites and also Investigate and report on the cause of environmental accidents / incidents and near misses on site.
  • Conduct Daily site visits and ensure all non-conformances are corrected immediately.
  • Control and Maintain Environmental records - waste invoices, permits, licenses etc.

  • Issuing of permits for all jobs to be done on the gas station or gas pipeline
  • Inspection of Sasol gas pipeline servitude for any illegal activities which might jeopardize the gas transfer and put public in danger of explosion and fire
  • Ensuring safety on the gas station prior to work is maintained through isolating and venting out gas on the line where work will be done
