· Responsible for the end to end processing of Import Letters of Credit to ensure that transactions are in accordance with international standard banking practice, rules and regulations with a view of avoiding reputational and financial risk for the Standard Bank Group. Perform checking of documents presented in accordance with the terms and conditions under the Letter of Credit subject to International Standard Banking Practice (ISBP), Uniform Customs and Practice for Documentary Credits (UCP600), International Standby Practice (ISP98) rulings
· To provide quality foreign exchange information, sales and product application service to customers.
· To ensure that subordinates are fully trained and equipped to meet customer requirements.
· To understand and manage the risks involved with each transaction by ensuring that all bank, exchange control (Excon) and reserve bank rules and regulations are strictly adhered to.
· To maintain a high level of integrity and ethical standards.
· Identifies and processes customer debit/credit transaction need accurately and efficiently including the encashment of cheques within certain limits.

· Ensures that laid-down procedures as per GRG with regards to teller’s differences are adhered to.
· Scrutinises balancing attempts by tellers systematically.
· Ensures that cash summaries are completed according to laid down procedures as stipulated in GRG.
· Actions withdrawal summaries on the system.
· Ensures that the frontline area presents a tidy, professional image to customers.
· Ensures that the correct procedures as stipulated in GRG for handling and movement of cash assets in the branch are adhered to.
· Ensures that the correct security procedures are adhered to when cash is delivered to/collected from relevant cash transit company (SBV).
· Orders and arranges clearing of surplus cash.
· Receives notes and specie from tellers to be lodged into treasury.
· Monitors cash trends and ensures cash holdings are within prescribed limits
· Controls seals for bags used for cash clearances.
· Assists the controlling officer with surprise checks of tellers and ATM’s.
· Ensures that all differences are handled as outlined in Group Reference guide
