Olwethu Malgas

I was appointed to be the IURI 171 which is Introduction to Law and legal skills for law student. In which I performed the following duties :

1)Facilitated tutorial sessions for students, in which aimed at assisting students in understanding concepts taught in lectures.

2) Assisted students with any academic challenges they faced.

3) Encouraged students in performing well.

4) Prepared slides and tutorial documents that assisted students in understanding the content better.

Within my portfolio as the Community and Stakeholder Engagement Officer I performed the following duties :

1)Organized a community outreach that aimed at improving the well-being of the differently abled persons as well as elderly.

2)Organized iniatives that looked at supporting those who are in need be it with food or sanitary products.

3)Organized an event in which looked at assisting students to embrace and understand what academic excellence entails.

4) Executed an event that celebrate women empowerment. In which educated young women on leadership skills, mental health and the spirit of sisterhood.

5)Planned and executed an excursion to the Constitution Court for law students. In which this excursion looked at preparing law students for the career that they are studying and also the importance of the Constitution.

6)Mentored my subcommittee member with regards to organizing events and enhancing their leadership skills. In which resulted in her being the Chairperson for the Labour Aid South Africa Society.

In the year 2023 I was appointed as the Deputy Chairperson for LSAC Subcommittee in which I was taksed with the following duties :

1)Assiting the Deputy Chairperson of the LSACV with organizing and planning events.

2)Responsible for the discipline of my fellow committee members.

3)Performed any other task that the LSACV delegated towards the subcommittee.
