Overall Management of the Real Estate Management Services Division

• Provision of functional accommodation to government departments.
• Development and Implementation of Optimization of Immovable State Asset Strategy.
• To manage development of state-assets through Public Private Partnerships (PPP's) such as Build Operate and Transfer (BOT) and Refurbish Operate and Transfer (ROT).
• Identification and Acquisition of State Assets for government use and service delivery purposes.
• Asset Lifecycle Management to ensure that assets are utilised optimally throughout their lifespan – from acquisition to disposal.
• Development and Implementation of state properties utilization strategies for revenue generation, economic transformation and cost savings.

Accounting Officer of the Department of Public Works and Infrastructure

• Provide Strategic Leadership and Direction for the Departments and its entities.
• Manage and oversee the Administration of the Department in the delivery of it's mandate.
• Oversee the management of the Department's entities – Infrastructure South Africa (ISA), Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB), Independent Development Trust (IDT), Council for Built Environment (CBE), Agrement South Africa (ASA) etc.
• Managing the State Immovable Assets in terms of GIAMA through the Property Management Trading Entity (PMTE).
• Managing the sourcing of funding for Development of State Infrastructure through Infrastructure South Africa (ISA)
• Manage the Delivery of Infrastructure Projects for the state through the Department, Independent Development Trust (IDT), Development Bank of southern Africa (DBSA), Coega Development Corporation (CDC).
• Manage the release of land for Human Settlements, Restitution and Socio-Economic purposes with the relevant departments, state owned enterprises and other government agencies.
• Manage the provision of accommodation for government Departments across the country.
• Overseeing the Implementation of EPWP to contribute to the national goals of job creation and poverty alleviation.
• Overseeing the implementation of the Green Building Programme for DPWI (Integrated Renewable Energy and Resource Efficiency Program - IREREP)
• Overseeing the development and Implementation of Policies for the Department

Overall Management of the Facilities Management Division

• Development and implementation of a Maintenance Strategy for Property Management Trading Entity / Public Works & Infrastructure
• Implement Total Facilities Management Program for State Owned Facilities
• Improve Management Controls and Incident Turnaround times for unscheduled maintenance
• Implementation of Term Contracts for Buildings and Critical Components (HVAC, Lifts and Boilers)
• Ensuring Occupational Health and Safety Regulations Compliance of State Properties
• To protect the value of State Property Portfolio – through Safeguarding of State Assets.
• Implementation of the Green Building Programme for DPWI (Integrated Renewable Energy and Resource Efficiency Program - IREREP)

• Direct, administer, and coordinate the internal operational activities of the organization in accordance with policies, goals, and objectives established by the Chief Executive Officer.
• Lead and direct the following functions and/or business units: operations, human resources, Financial & Supply Chain Management, IT, new business coordination, Project Management, Legal and communications.
• Assist the CEO in the development of organization policies and goals that cover operations, personnel & financial performance.
• Direct internal operations to achieve budgeted results and other financial criteria, and to preserve the capital funds invested in the enterprise.

• Ensure alignment of institutions plans with Local, Provincial and National priorities and policies (Strategic Planning).
• Responsible for the Planning, Design and Execution of new construction and upgrading of civil infrastructure (Incl. Water Treatment Works, Water Retaining Structures, Storm water Drainage, Access Roads and Pipelines).
• Procurement of Services and Materials to ensure smooth running of the section
• Maintenance and repairs of the electrical, mechanical and civil infrastructure and equipment of the institution and on behalf of clients.

• Implementation and management of the construction of buildings and related infrastructure for the Mpumalanga Provincial Government. Including Health & Education Facilities and other social infrastructure such as schools and related infrastructure, Community Health Centres (CHC) and Clinics
