Project - BI Financial Reporting

Description - The goal of the project was to create a system that will fetch financial data(weekly cashflow, trial balance) from SHAREPOINT and feed the system to have detailed reports of Profit and loss(MTD,YTD), Balance sheet.

Responsibilities:

Power BI

• Retrieved data from Excel and SharePoint online
• Created Power BI model for financial reporting of Profit and Loss and Headcount using best relationship constraints to optimize performance and avoid ambiguity.
• Developed test cases based on test matrix including test data preparation for Data Completeness, Data Transformations, Data quality, Performance and scalability.
• Performed various transformation processes with Power Query to ensure data accuracy and uniformity.
• Created model using star and snowflake schema.
• Used advanced DAX functions such as switch statements, selectedvalue, HASONEVALUE and calculate functions to create financial reports such as profit and loss, cashflow and consolidated balances for regions.
• Created periodic reports for MTD, YTD, full-year consolidated profit and loss using Dax functions

Project: Data Engineering

Description: implemented a robust and resilient enterprise data warehouse with Azure Data Factory to integrate, prepare, cleanse and transform the data before landing the data to enterprise data models. The solution also involves the use of logic apps to move data from SHAREPOINT excel files to storage account. it uses Azure functions call APIs and consume the JSON out of the Azure function calls in Azure Data Factory pipelines. The data was well structured into dimensions and fact tables. Finally, Microsoft Power BI was used to build stunning dashboards to visualize advertisement spending & other key performance indicators.

Project: Data Warehouse

Description - The goal of the project was to create incidents dashboard that depicts critical KPIs for incidents management. The main sources of the system were two ERPs called Microsoft Dynamics 365 and SAP. The Dashboard enables users to slice and dice data and quickly make better decisions. Complex calculations were made with DAX and also leveraging row level security of power bi to prevent unauthorized users from viewing sensitive data.
