- Ensure that occupations/emergency occupations of infrastructure in CTC/VDU warrant boundaries are timeous granted and properly controlled by completing occupation checklist in conjunction with TCO to adhere to safe trains working procedures during occupations
- Supervise, maintain and implement corrective measurements on safety standards and good discipline in centralized Traffic Control/VDU warrant office to ensure safe and hazardous free working environment as per legislation. (e.g. standard operating procedures, O2E process and directive)
- Coordinate integrate and control work processes or workstations during emergencies / derailments, authorization of train movements during abnormal situations.
- Perform administrative duties within own area of responsibility
- Supervise staff to ensure subordinates perform according to performance and quality standards by conducting daily task observations, identify and address deviations.
- Address conflicts that may arise in Train Control environment and interfaces
- Liaise with OCC regarding requirements of train service
- Manage all assets in Train Control environment
- Monitor audio and visual detection equipment and do necessary activation.
- Activates contingency plan in case of incidents and accidents, capture and update IIMS
- Ensure that sub-ordinates comply to fitness for duty procedure e.g. breathalyzer tests as per substance abuse policy and safety talks
- Oversee and conduct on job practical training as mentor for TCO's by constant supervision and skills/knowledge transfer to candidates
- Prepare information and statistics about performance of actual train service and give feedback to management
- Be prepared to execute operational instructions as issued by competent authority according to business requirements.
