• Participating in the neonatal ward where I am considered as a professional nurse but I still carry out tasks under the supervision of a registered nurse post community service.
• I assisted registered nurses, staff nurses and nurse assistants in providing patient care, conducting patient assessments, and adhering to infection control protocols.
• I developed a sense of team work by doing tasks done by professional nurses every morning before the shift commences, this includes: writing the delegation, writing the all on duty and compiling the night staff handover reports from different cubicles within our ward.

• From first year of my studies we were placed at clinics and hospitals doing bedside nursing, doing mostly vital signs and urinalysis.
• The second year of my studies we progressed to doing midwifery related practicals; woman's first visit, women in the second trimester etc.
• In the third year our practicals focused on helping women deliver their babies and an introduction to Psychiatry.
• Lastly in the fourth year we focused on women delivering and the introduction to the following specialties; Renal, Emergency, Operational Theatre, Intensive Care Unit.

• Assisted in patient assessments and evaluations under supervision.
• Administered medications and monitored patient responses accurately.
• Collaborated with healthcare teams to develop patient care plans.

At Phelophepa I was working in my own consultation room and would see patients and thereafter diagnose and prescribe medication related to the patient’s complaints.
