My name is Nontokozo S. Ndlovu. Before being an educator, I am first and foremost a mother of two beautiful children. Motherhood has profoundly shaped my understanding of the importance of nurturing young minds, fostering growth, and creating supportive environments where children can thrive. This personal experience has strengthened my passion for education and continues to influence my approach to teaching and leadership.
I hold a Bachelor of commerce in Business Management and Human Resources, a PGCE in Further Education and Training (FET) and Senior Phase, and have successfully completed the Trailblazer Leadership Course with SPARK schools. My academic background, combined with my practical teaching experience, has equipped me with a strong foundation in both business principles and educational practice.
I began my teaching career in 2019 at Muntu High School, where I taught Mathematics and EMS to Grades 8 and 9, as well as Business Studies to Grade 10 learners. In 2021, I joined SPARK Schools as a Grade 4 Mathematics teacher at SPARK Cresta, teaching Mathematics, Natural Sciences, and Personal and Social Well-being. During this time, I consistently achieved above 90% scholar proficiency and maintained 100% DBE compliance. While fulfilling my Grade 4 responsibilities, I also stepped in to teach Grade 6 Mathematics, demonstrating adaptability, commitment, and a strong focus on scholar achievement.
My responsibilities quickly expanded beyond the classroom to include onboarding and mentoring new teachers, facilitating professional development, moderating assessments, participating in teacher recruitment panels, and managing proficiency data and operational logistics. I also led key school-wide initiatives, including Scholar Support Programmes(SSP), staff wellness initiatives, Parent Conference Meetings, SPARK Fly coordination, and operational planning for various school events.
Currently serving as an Assistant Principal at SPARK Silverlakes, I am passionate about delivering high-quality, transformational education that drives scholar achievement. One of my core goals as a school leader is to ensure that every scholar receives the support, guidance, and opportunities necessary to reach their full potential.
I am an intrinsically motivated, energetic, highly creative, proactive, and confident individual who thrives on challenges and growth opportunities. I am committed to continuous learning and seek to contribute to dynamic, collaborative, and team-oriented organisations that value excellence, innovation, accountability, and professional development. My objective is to continue enhancing my knowledge, leadership capabilities, and impact while helping to create meaningful educational experiences that transform the lives of scholars and their communities.
