- Sourcing of data from multiple sources using SSIS and Ab Initio into an SQL environment following the dimensional modeling methodology
- Providing daily platform support to all power BI users within the bank

- The conversion of existing SSIS jobs into AB Initio

- Worked on many ad hoc activities, but also has worked on a few big ticket items namely:
- Warehouse Capacity Forecast – Measures each of the warehouses’ expected volume of orders to be received versus the warehouse’s capacity and the utilization of the warehouse’s space
- Warehouse Inbound and Outbound Actuals—Measures the quantity, volume, and value of orders in the warehouses and of orders that were ready to be shipped
- Execution Plan – Measures whether trips are executed according to how they were planned
- Order Status – Keeps track of the current status of all orders and the duration in which an order remained on each status
- KPI – Measures all the key performance indicators as defined by the client such as on time delivery, stock availability, damaged inventory, availability to sell and turnaround times
- Operational Analytics – A model that measures the performance of certain companies contracted with Barloworld Logistics
- BI Datawarehouse Design and Development – I was involved in my first data warehousing project where I was tasked with implementing the design using Ralph Kimball’s methodology of dimensional modeling
- Reason for leaving: After the data warehouse was completed and all required dashboards were put in place, work became slow and I needed to move on as there was not much to do

- Worked on many ad hoc activities, but also has worked on a few big ticket items namely:
- Nursery Strategy: Nursery Strategy Dashboard assists in showing the results of the Nursery Strategy project in terms of an increase in cross sell, activation and DOS take up
- Home loans Infonet: The project involved moving all home loan reports that were previously sitting on Infonet to Qlikview and changing some of the measure calculations as some of them were not accurate
- The total reports moved is approximately 60
- Activation Tracking Dashboard: The dashboard is mainly used to call customers that had not activated their accounts after 15 days, 30, 45 days and 60 days after an account had been opened
- It also measures the success rate of activations
- People Serve Customer Experience Dashboard: The dashboard is used to measure productivity and efficiency of consultants in terms of Turn Around Time and customer feedback, this information is used to determine if targets were met and ultimately used for appraisals
- Rest Of Africa Dashboards: The dashboard measures productivity for African countries
- Previously countries were writing information captured on excel spreadsheets which left a lot of room for error
- A capture screen was implemented along with a dashboard, now countries are able to view every day the amount of work they have performed and are also able to measure team members based on the amount of work done
- Reason for leaving: I needed a new challenge as I had learned everything I could learn from the role
