My passion for care is the central focus of my professional drive. Over my career, I have gained extensive experience supporting individuals with a wide range of needs, including learning disabilities, profound learning disabilities, mental health, and challenging behaviours. This has continued since my arrival in Guernsey six months ago, where I have been working as an agency support worker, building upon the strong foundation of knowledge and experience I gained within the UK care sector. My commitment to leadership is underscored by my Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care, complemented by regular training to ensure my practice remains current and informed within the evolving Health and Social Care landscape

Agency Support Worker

Following dedicated years of service at Midco Care, including my time as a CQC Registered Manager, after starting as a Support Worker in 2019, I ultimately decided to pursue a new and rewarding opportunity as an Agency Support Worker in a new environment in Guernsey.


During my 6 months working as an agency support Worker at the Autism Hub in Guernsey, I have become well integrated to the team and am now keen to make a long term commitment and take up a permanent role.

Started as SERVICE COORDINATOR ON 1 December 2023 and being elevated to Registered Manager on 8 May 2025 after a CQC interview. Roles were as below:

  • Ensuring that the service meets and surpasses CQC standards and the LA contract specification.
  • Carrying out assessments and developing individually tailored care plans for new clients, ensuring they support the client's needs, promote their dignity, and reduce identified risks to their well-being.
  • Planning and progressing the strategic priorities of the Company within the area.
  • Being responsible for and always committed to the promotion of Service User's safety and well-being, ensuring the safeguarding of vulnerable individuals is in line with Company & Local Authority policies and procedures.
  • Determining staffing, material, and other needs long-term and short-term needs.

  • Taking full responsibility, for all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the service, ensuring that service users receive safe, caring, stimulating, and homely environments to meet their social and health needs.

  • Supervision of all support staff allocated to the service delegating tasks as appropriate, including conducting their induction, supervisions, appraisals; staff spot checks, and shadowing of more experienced staff.
  • Acting as out-of-hours emergency support staff (evenings and on Saturdays, Sundays, and Bank holidays) to assist staff on duty when required, for example, to manage an incident that has arisen.
  • Contributing to creating and maintaining a culture of professionalism, performance, and excellence.
  • Acting as shift cover during emergencies where replacement staff are not immediately available; as well as providing cover for other support staff for the service, in their absences.
  • Carrying out any other duties as may reasonably be requested by the Services Manager.

  • Supporting service users with Learning Disabilities and/or mental health issues to live as independently as possible on a shift pattern rota basis in a supported living environment.
  • Safeguarding and supporting the Service Users whilst they are in our care, following the procedures in place to safeguard them.
  • Attending to any arising Service User queries, complaints, and challenges, including maintaining accurate, confidential and up-to-date documentation on all cases of safeguarding.
  • Providing direct day to day support services to service users including support with budgeting, personal care, shopping, preparing and cooking meals, housekeeping, prompting or administering medication, education and employment pursuits.
