As part of Capitec's two-year Future Leaders Programme, I was placed on a structured rotational journey across critical functions to develop strategic, technical, and risk acumen in the banking environment.

Insurance Compliance:
• Supported the development and maintenance of internal compliance controls aligned to FAIS, FIC Act, and the Insurance Act.
• Assisted in regulatory submissions and policy reviews to ensure adherence to conduct standards.
• Participated in internal compliance reviews and thematic monitoring projects.

Monitoring & Reporting Team:
•Assisted in conducting compliance reviews, which involved testing control effectiveness, identifying gaps, and documenting findings.
•Contributed to the drafting of review reports, highlighting key compliance issues and recommending corrective actions.
•Participated in the review and enhancement of company policies, ensuring alignment with relevant legislation and regulatory expectations.

Legal Team:
• Assisted in the review and drafting of third-party agreements, including the preparation of service orders and related legal documentation.
• Supported the termination process by drafting formal termination letters in accordance with contractual obligations and internal procedures.
• Responded to and resolved legal queries from internal stakeholders, ensuring timely and accurate legal guidance.

Privacy Team (POPIA & PAIA Focus):
• Contributed to incident tracking and assessment of privacy-related risks.
• Participated in the review of PAIA requests and assisted with compliance documentation.

· Assisted postgraduate students with research-related inquiries, providing guidance and support to facilitate their academic work.

· Delivered training sessions on the use of research tools and databases, enhancing students’ research skills and efficiency.

· Supported users in navigating library resources, including locating and accessing research materials within the library premises.
