As the company's D&I Specialist my role is to support, guide and manage a diverse work environment that is reflective of the country we live in especially from a B-BBEE perspective.

Organon is a multinational so my role involves engaging with global stakeholders ensuring there is understanding and alignment on D&I matters.

As the subject matter expert, I report directly to the SA managing director and responsible for quarterly updated to the board.

I am an excellent communicator and collaborate regularly with HR when it comes to B-BBEE related training.

I oversee the company's Learnership & Graduate Programme, plan the annual the ESD conference, a platform for entrepreneurs to advance market linkages by exposing them to networking opportunities, manage the B-BBEE verification process and support the SEC and EE committee.

My responsibilities included:

• Managing flagship transformation projects e.g. Graduate programme, Grandpa Spaza Academy an ED initiative.
• Addressing transformation queries from the business units/divisions.
• Enabling South & Southern Africa Team to create solutions that unlock the 5 pillars of the BBBEE framework.
• Developing tools and methodologies to track and measure effective B-BBEE performance for each Chain/Business Unit.
• Communicating and providing updates on the company’s culture strategy on various platforms such as the Transformation & Change Champions Committee and quarterly townhalls.

• Workplace Skills Plan and Annual Training Report submission

I worked in this role for over 6 years, from Junior consultant to mid-level Transformation facilitator and I gained extensive B-BBEE consulting and knowledge. The company environment also provided exposure to numerous B-BBEE Sector Codes mainly in the ICT and Transport Sector.

As a consultant:

• Prepared files for verification, and this required impeccable attention to detail a vital skill in this field.
• Delivered training sessions, ensuring that participants developed a thorough understanding of the subject matter.
