  • Prepare a charge makeup successfully, for the smelters according to the customer specification/requirements (additions/dilutions included) i.e Stainless steel (C23, 316 SS and C21)
  • Do sample preparation by grinding, polishing and etching the sample so that I can perform a chemical analysis on the metal using a Q4 Tasman Bruker Spectrometer
  • Prepare certificates by registering the sample on the system for every casting awaiting delivery as well as sample labeling and storage control
  • Maintain the laboratory by keeping it clean at all times and making sure all the equipment are handled with care
  • Test the hardness of castings using the PHB-3000 Hydraulic Brinell Hardness Tester
  • Influence the calibration of the spectrometer every week to ensure the correct reading of the chemistry of the sample being tested
