- The prime objective is to ensure that the Key Performance Indicators are met and exceeded, abide by the set principles of Biosecurity and ensuring every worker abide by the biosecurity measures and be aligned with the Animal Welfare requirements and Health and Safety Acts
- Amongst other things that falls under my daily duties includes ensuring the ff
- Monitoring daily activities on the farm and act as Farm manager in his absence
- Prepare Houses prior to placement, creating good conditions for the chickens
- Co-ordinate placement on chicken’s arrival
- Control Ventilation accordingly
- Water management (monitor drinkers, header tanks and general sanitation within the farm
- Feed management (monitor bin stock levels, take feed samples on feed arrival, ensure accurate feeding of chickens as per program and considering other factors
- Enforcing Biosecurity measures and Sanitation to prevent diseases
- Monitor Birds health and activity, vaccinate and give medications according to program and as per VCD Staff management (accurate recording of registers, conduct trainings and review meeting) Recording keeping (updating health and safety files and ISO file for audits, and according to all specifications of the farm.) Ensuring water is available at all times Litter management Egg collection and egg dispatch Bird weighing Washing of drinkers Removing mortalities Culling when necessary Sorting out mechanical issues on the farm
