• Designed and implemented the backend architecture for South African Matric application(samatricapp), a web-based application aimed at assisting South African matriculants with career and university course selection based on their results.
• Developed and maintained a MySQL database to store subject information, student marks, university courses, and course requirements for various institutions.
• Created APIs using Node.js to handle user authentication, data submission, and retrieval for seamless interaction between the front-end and back-end systems.
• Integrated features that allowed users to input their high school subjects and marks, calculate their APS scores, and view university courses they qualified for.
• Ensured secure and efficient data management practices to provide a smooth and reliable user experience.
• Collaborated with team members to troubleshoot and optimize the system, ensuring fast response times and minimal downtime.
• Contributed to building a user-friendly interface by working closely with the front-end development team.
