Work history

Intern

The Legal Resources Centre
Johannesburg, Gauteng
01.2025 - 01.2025
  • I contributed to two key projects:
  • State Capture Project:
  • I conducted extensive research culminating in a legal memorandum titled "South African Whistleblower Protection: Domestic, International, and Foreign Jurisdictions," providing a comprehensive overview of whistleblower protection across various jurisdictions.
  • My second sub-task involved in-depth research on institutions handling whistleblowing, focusing on international best practices. I produced a 17-page document identifying effective whistleblower institutions globally, analysing their practices and evaluating their effectiveness. Based on this research, I provided detailed comments and suggestions on a whistleblower protection bill drafted by civil society organizations.
  • Copyright Bill Matter:
  • I was tasked with researching and preparing submissions on the sections of the Copyright Bill deemed unconstitutional by the President, specifically those conflicting with Section 25 of the Constitution. My 53-page document analysed international best practices related to these contested sections.
