- Currently in my masters so as field epidemiology trainee I an actively investigating and monitoring disease outbreaks in the field by collecting data through interviews, surveys, and observations, analyzing the information to identify patterns of disease spread, and then advising public health officials on appropriate control and prevention strategies to contain outbreaks and prevent future occurrences; this often involves traveling to affected areas to conduct research and gather crucial data on the ground

- Primary stage of vaccine production by:
Perform scientific procedure on horses (injections, sampling, plasmapheresis and donor) in order to produce anti sera; Run blood tests and blood analysis on Idexx machine; Train and manage new horses/ foals to familiarize them with the environment and for the purpose of clinical trial; Conduct routine checks on horses and sheep to observe illness/ injury and assist in the treatment thereof to ensure animals health.
Clean bleeding equipment’s in preparation for sterilization in order to maintain a hygiene work environment; Operate equipment’s (e.g. weighing balances, autoclave); to ensure accuracy and efficiency of services; Prepare and restrain large animals in preparation for procedures to adhere to production schedule and SOPs; Reviewing of SOP’s; Stable management; Ensure and maintain the health status of the animals. - Primary animal health care: Farm visits, vaccinating for notifiable and zoonotic diseases, organizing rabies campaigns, vaccinations, dehorning, castrations, and dipping, deworm animals, branding animals and extension services to farmers; Herd health management and data and sample collection; Control disease: testing for TB and bleeding for CA; sample collection and submit them to the lab, record keeping, attend auctions for inspection of diseases e.g Sheep scab, T and C-branded animals, diamond skin disease etc; Small animal clinic: patient consultations, surgery; preparations for the vet to perform a surgery, vaccinations (dogs and cats), client advices, monitor patients during surgery, issue vaccination certificate and record keeping; Epidemiology: check the prevalence of the diseases, inspections and conducting surveys; Identify the roaming animals especially pigs, collects samples especially ticks and send them to the lab; Export services: Issuing exports permits, inspect trucks with consignments; visit different companies to seal truck and check if papers to correspond with the consignment, keep record; Veterinary public health: visit different abattoirs conducting inspections and dentifying abnormalities on meat, check proper abattoir setup, temperature, water and drainage systems and advices abattoir owners, record keeping and writing reports
