At the church I volunteered to work behind the stream desk, where tasks included setup, camera work, streaming and sound system control.

During my time in the Voortrekkers I partook in a daring survival camp known as "Buitegroep". During this, we were left in the wildernes for 9 days with only water and the clothes on our back. Food had to be acquired from wildlife, fire from sticks and shelter from the trees in the surrounding area.

This tested the limits of our being, and taught us to stay positive, encouraging and perseverance.

As part of my course I had to do 6 weeks of vacation work, which I completed at SKF South-Africa. During my time there I had to figure out data collection devices including a vibration collection device with condition monitoring, and a high precision laser tracker for design deficiencies.

The vacation work taught me how to function as a group in a corporate workforce and overcoming engineering challenges.

During my study at the North-West University I was elected as financial House Committee member of Caput mens residence. During my term I had to organize fundraisers, keep stock, and handle residence related payments.

For the term 2023-2024 I won the financial house committee member of the year award, and placed second in fundraising.
