I was fresh out of closing my business and having graduated from law. My career prospects didn't feel promising and I was 28 years of age when Macintosh gave me a chance at another career.

I learned quite a bit from Mr. Erasmus and my love for the law industry grew.

At Macintosh, I was tasked with the following:

• Conducting thorough research on various areas of law, ensuring accurate information and strong case foundations.
• Preparing essential legal documents for successful case outcomes and settlements.
• Attending court proceedings, representing clients'' interests and protecting their rights effectively.
• Successfully negotiating settlements between disputing parties, avoiding costly litigation processes.
• Assisting lawyers with material preparation for internal and external training events.
• Analyzing legal documents and identifying pertinent issues for clients.
• Drafting demurrers and replied to oppositions.

I reiterate, my love for the law industry was ignited at Macintosh Cross and I have since spent 5 years immersing myself in it's different facets thanks to the training I have received at Macintosh Cross.

At Phosa Loots, although short-lived, I learnt about the application of the law and the intricacies therein, but from a political perspective. With the firm's affiliation to the political world, our clients centered around industries that were integrative to policy change.

I was tasked with the following, in order to assist the attorneys with their duties:

• Conducting background investigations on defendant.
• Revising and finalizing letters, briefs, and memos.
• Researching and analyzing legal issues and cases to provide accurate advice to clients.

I learned a lot at Phosa Loots Inc. One of which is my adaptability to different work environments and challenging tasks.

My experience at MG Law, although also short-lived as with Phosa Loots Inc, brought about many challenges which I looked forward to rising to every day.

With their dynamic views of the law and strategic planning, I believed it would've been a great place for me to begin my legal journey while waiting to be admitted as an Attorney of the Court.

I was tasked with the following:

• Preparing and drafting correspondence and legal forms to maintain smooth communications.
• Improving communication between attorneys and clients by scheduling meetings, providing status updates, and relaying critical information promptly.
• Drafting accurate and persuasive legal correspondence, contributing to successful negotiations and settlements.
• Contributing to the development of winning litigation strategies through careful review of relevant statutes, case law, regulations, and other authoritative sources.
• Gathering key information during initial client intake interviews that contributed significantly to the formulation of effective legal arguments.
• Enhancing client satisfaction with timely and accurate legal advice on various matters.
• Reducing potential litigation risks by conducting thorough research and providing preemptive solutions to clients.

As expressed, although short-lived, my time truly gave me a different perspective into legal implementation of complex situations. You really have to be strategic to arrive at favorable outcomes.

At Capital Legacy, I was tasked with assisting clients through what could be the most difficult moments of their lives. Losing a loved one is never easy, however, after the dust settles the work needs to remain. That's where I come in.

As an Estate Consultant who is an Admitted Attorney and currently enrolled to finish a course a Course in Wealth Management through the Sanlam Academy, I am tasked with the following and more:

• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to successfully deliver comprehensive solutions for clients.
• Improving client satisfaction by effectively managing multiple difficulties within estates and consistently meeting deadlines.
• Managing client relationships through regular check-ins and updates on the estates progress.
• Evaluating client needs and expectations, establishing clear goals for each consulting engagement.
• Onboarding and managing new client accounts.
• Collecting, arranging, and inputting information into database system.
• Generating reports detailing findings and recommendations.

I take great pride in knowing that I have helped many families with the intricacies of an estate wind up as well as the legalities behind the effects of actions during and administrative process.

Waking Life Media was my dream project that unfortunately didn't last the lifetime I had hoped it would. I started Waking Life Media as a magazine that centered around discovering young talented musicians and artists from all walks of life.

I achieved my goal to be honest. It was a life I was proud to live. I had 7 employees under my responsibility and was tasked with growing the business so as to upscale it.

My duties included, but weren't limited to, the following:

• Developing strong partnerships with other businesses to allow for collaboration and more significant opportunities for growth.
• Establishing a successful business by identifying market needs and coming up with creative ways to meet those needs.
• Creating the organization's mission and vision statements for use by employees.
• Utilizing exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills to produce engaging and error-free content.
• Collaborating with graphic designers to develop visually appealing infographics and other multimedia elements to complement written content.
• Gaining deep understanding of target audiences through market research, allowing for more tailored content creation strategies.
• Developing original content through social listening and independent sources.

Although Waking Life ultimately closed down, I learned a lot about what it means to be a leader from a very young age. Success is not a linear quest but one filled with mountains and valleys. The journey of which for me, continues.
