  • Manage the full payroll function which includes the monthly processing of salaries and reconciling of payroll using Sage VIP Premier ( 22 payrolls; 2300 employees )
  • Oversee the submission of data for terminations, new appointments, transfers and promotions.
  • Create and upload batch payments for the group.
  • Manage payroll and ad-hoc payments for executive board members.
  • Ensure employees are paid accurately and timeously, liaise and engage with payroll stakeholders to resolve any payroll or HR related queries.
  • Prepare, check and sign-off all variance reports.
  • Preparation of requisitions for statutory, non-statutory and third party payments for entire group are effected within required timeframes.
  • Ensure back-ups, updates and copy systems are done timeously.
  • Monitor Payroll & HR systems and databases and ensure prompt maintenance of staff records at all times including archiving and filing.
  • Create new folders and upload records on Tidy Files system.
  • Manage post-retirement medical aid and funeral benefits for pensioners, liaise timeously with relevant stakeholders ( +- 300 pensioners ).
  • Update new earning and deduction lines for all payroll groups and load new medical aid tables ( Discovery & Sizwe ) for pensioners.
  • Prepare monthly reports and EMP201 reconciliation for group.
  • Prepare and submit STATS SA Reports for all entities.
  • Submit monthly UIF declarations to Department of Labour.
  • Extract and submit GL to finance department.
  • Sign off all documentation pertaining to medical aid and funeral claims for all employees.
  • Manage CTC, TCP requests and dummy payslips for new and existing employees.
  • Prepare ad-hoc payroll reports using Sage Intelligence Reporter, V-Look and Pivot Tables.
  • Manage changes, upload payslips and approve leave on ESS system.
  • Manage and coordinate bi-annual and annual IRP5 reconciliations and submissions to SARS.
  • Calculate VSP & retrenchment packages, apply for tax directives and new tax numbers.
  • Prepare UIF documentation, complete and sign-off pension withdrawal forms.
  • Developed and maintained internal control processes, document procedures, identification of areas to improve internal controls.
