
Joined the South African Navy in 1996 as a Mechanical Fitter Machinery (Ships) after completing military training. Later completed Naval Military Officer training and appointed as a technical officer. Seconded to the SA Navy Frigate Acquisition Project Team and deployed to Germany for 2 years for training and conducting client acceptance inspections at the shipyards during vessel construction. Formed part of the vessel delivery team and later appointed as a Marine Engineering Officer onboard the Frigates.
Joined SMIT Amandla Marine as a Technical Superintendent in 2007, forming part of the vessel management team responsible for assigned vessels of the fleet.
Joined Bureau Veritas as a Marine Surveyor in 2009. Carrying out Classification, Statutory and Cargo Gear surveys on ships in service &Surveyor at Yard and Project Leader for New Construction.
Qualified as an ISM, MSA Lead Auditor and MLC Inspector.
