  • Monitoring (and corrective action if outside agreed or expected parameters) of vessel performance trends incl: Speed, fuel and lubricating oil consumption; implement a regular vessel visiting schedule and report on general condition, repairs and maintenance, safety (SHE-Q), crewing and any actions required
  • (This included discussions with vessels on spares, stores, procurement and any other issues of concern, and reporting on same)
  • Working closely with the vessel manager and members of the management team (including masters) to co-ordinate all relevant information required for the preparation of Vessel Operating Costs and budgets
  • Authorising all necessary vessel orders for stores, spares, repairs, surveys, dry docking (within limits of authority), so as to ensure that vessel (s) remain adequately stocked for safe and efficient operation
  • Review and evaluate planned maintenance schedules, and ensure that repairs of all reported deficiencies and non-conformities are cleared as quickly as possible
  • Supervision of Chief Engineers as well as interviewing and briefing of senior officers on work plan(s) and requirements prior to them joining and upon signing off
  • Implement the company SHE-Q plan and objectives as it applies to the vessels and ensure buy-in and support on board vessels
