Supply Planning:
• Lead and ensure alignment and implement locally relevant and globally-connected supply strategies to improve productivity, quality and efficiency through-out the supply chain to enable the delivery and improvement of customer satisfaction (internal and external).
• Devise action plans and engage relevant stakeholders to manage conflicting KPI’s between customer service, production and warehousing in order to ensure an effective balance between servicing customers with carrying the lowest possible inventory in line with strategy.
• Review the forecasted demand with the available operations capacity in order to determine the required production output per month.
• Participate in weekly production planning meetings with key operations stakeholders to ensure the detailed scheduling is adjusted based on the production output and demand variation.
• Lead monthly Supply Review Meetings to reconcile constrained and unconstrained plans with key stakeholders (Operations (Plants), Procurement, Logistics, Demand Planning) in order to test and gain agreement from relevant business stakeholders on supply plan.
• Actively promote planning and scheduling in the ERP system and manage stakeholders’ behaviour to adhere to said plans in order to avoid unplanned production and procurement.
• Act as an advisor to new product development, new business/manufacturing or warehouse footprint change initiatives in order to determine production output and space requirements.
• Strive to understand ‘End-to-end’ Supply Chain for the Saint Gobain SA business to ensure that factual and informed business decisions are made.
• Coach people where necessary within the supply planning process in order to influence implementation of key supply planning processes.
o Production Planning:
• Be the link between sales and production, providing information dates, available capacity, raw materials and lead-time to various products
• Weekly and daily planning of production to satisfy a given forecast / demand in line with plant efficiency, capacity and warehouse capacity. Planning to be done in ERP system timeously ensuring that data is live and accurate.
• Communicate production plan changes timeously to relevant stakeholders to support decisions for adequate material levels.
• Track and report Master Schedule adherence and Production Schedule adherence. Understand & report on root causes for deviations and escalate capacity constraint concerns.
• Daily monitoring of goods movements to:
• Ensure correct consumptions in SAP
• Analyse and investigate variances within SAP
• Ensure that production orders are closed & techo’d timeously. (All production orders to be closed by Month end)
• Weekly checking and reporting of Production variances against BOM planned consumption.
o Process management and improvement:
• Apply continuous improvement principles to supply planning processes in order to produce faster, at a better quality, at a better cost with as little as possible scrap.
• Ensure supply planning processes are documented in order to manage knowledge within the organistion.
o Analysis and reporting:
• Collaborate and influence adherence to published production plans by all stakeholders in the value chain through effective communication and monitoring of performance.
• Review holistic supply process to validate proven capacity, identify key bottle necks and devise most appropriate supply plan.
• Submit required reports timeously to management to support business result analysis and key decision making processes
