Accomplishments

On the run-up to the 2010 Soccer World Cup in South Africa, I was the Project Consultant/Manager for the RF/Cell Project on the expansion of the O.R Tambo International Airport (Central Terminal Building), managing, monitoring and supervising networks installations by Vodacom SA, MTN SA, Cell C, Telkom, Altech Fleetcall, South African Airways (SAA) and the South African Police Service (SAPS). After completion of the project, I did sweep tests to check for interferences and successfully commissioned the project. I also worked on the Bombardier (Gautrain) Project where I provided communication networks and systems for the Contractors of the Gautrain railway lines, including the underground tunnels. After the construction of the tunnels and railway lines, I went on to do the Trunked Radio Network for the Gautrain. The radio network enabled the Bombadier (Gautrain) Train & Bus Control Centres in Midrand to talk to their trains and buses respectively, enabling the smooth running and operation of the Gautrain. I continued to do maintenance work on the Gautrain radio network and trunked radios and did a lot of maintenance work on the Leaky Feeders in the tunnels. I also provided Two Way Radio Communication during the construction of the FNB / Soccer City Stadium, during the same period. Later on I worked on the South African Police Service (SAPS) radio network, doing installations & maintenance work on their radio networks hi-sites. I then worked on the Hytera Digital Trunked Radio Network that was rolled out nationally by Altech Fleetcall. While at Altech Fleetcall, I was the Technical Support person for Hytera DMR Radios and I was also the Warranty Repairs Technician for the Hytera DMR Radios.
