Objective

The primary objective of my role was to deliver cost-effective, reliable, secure, and suitable ICT services and systems to facilitate the achievement of eThekwini Electricity’s strategic goals.

Responsibilities

• Developed both off-the-shelf and bespoke software solutions to address the organization's unique needs.
• Translated software requirements into efficient and robust programming code.
• Crafted detailed specifications and designed, developed, tested, implemented, and supported applications.
• Utilized programming languages and development tools, including Visual Studio (MVC, C#, ASP.NET), Oracle Database, and hosted solutions on IIS.

• I developed comprehensive forms to capture various types of insurance information from clients and utilized business intelligence tools to enhance reporting capabilities.

• I was responsible for updating the in-house web application, INKWORKS, which is used for managing digital forms across multiple industries and countries, overseeing the process from design to implementation.

• KDBS is a government consulting firm specializing in government project reporting. In my role, I was responsible for developing a project progress reporting tool, enabling the KDBS team to generate customized reports internally rather than relying on off-the-shelf software. We designed and implemented an application using advanced SMS technology (SMS short codes) to notify users of tender and invoice updates upon request.

• I acquired proficiency in Umbraco, a content management system, to design and maintain websites. During this time, I redesigned the user interface of the company's website, www.quartex.co.za, enhancing its usability and visual appeal. Additionally, I contributed to the development of the Natal Canon Club's web portal, a valued client of QuarteX ensuring the delivery of a seamless and user-friendly online experience.

• In my role, I manage in-house projects with a focus on software development and data management. A key responsibility is compiling the Soccer Betting News every Thursday, utilizing a C# Windows Forms application and a SQL 2005 database. This task occasionally requires code adjustments to accommodate various paper formats and adapt to changes in soccer seasons and leagues for international logs.
• I led the planning, design, and development of an application for monitoring international soccer results, which is now successfully deployed across all 49 Hollywood Bets branches. By leveraging my expertise in C# Windows Forms, SQL 2008, and Windows 7, I ensured the seamless operation and success of this application.
