As an employee of Fresenius Medical Care from the year 2004 until I resigned from Life Healthcare 2025, these were my duties and responsibilities as a staff member and a unit manager :

Patient Care

• Connection and disconnection of dialysis patients on dialysis machine.
• Analysis and interpretation of blood results as requested and from compiled monthly reports.
• Education in connection with received blood results and other topics related to dialysis, this done to optimize wholistic patient treatment.

Administration

• Complete patient medical documentation accurately according to set standards.
• Ensure that the admission process of a new patient completed accurately on the EUCLID medical system.
• Ensure accurate billing through the TMON and EUCLID medical system.
• Analyze and interpret patients' statistics from compiled weekly and monthly reports.

Finance

• Ensure full staff compliment so to minimize overtime.
• Controlled movement of stock, avoiding wastage and to maintain minimum stock levels in the unit as compared to the stockroom.
• Control the movement and care of equipment in the unit to minimize any damage.
• Account efficiently for all expenses in the unit.

Staffing

• Coordinated the recruitment process of new staff members.
• Trained and orientated newly appointed staff members.
• Ensure that staff receive continuous training and that all training is recorded.
• Enforce adherence of the code of conduct to all staff members.
• Ensure the infection control policy is adhered to, and that all staff members were immunized as per protocol.
• Ensure all safety protocols are adhered to by both staff and patients'.
• Offer support to all staff members where needed.

Customer Care

• Offer support and care to the patients' and family if needed on matters that might arise.
• Education provided to the families in relation to kidney disease for better patient support at home.
• Address and follow up effectively on customer complaints.
• Participated in the acute programme for acute and emergency cases as staff and as a manager, allowing adequate rest for my staff members, as well as to maintain my skills and to grow in my field.
• Be visible to all hospitals that we provided service to. Address and follow up on any complaints if any.

• Preparation of dialysis machines for dialysis treatment.
• Connection and disconnection of patients' from dialysis machines.
• Analyzed blood results and educated patients' accordingly.
• Participated in acute programme where I would be on standby for acute and emergency cases.

I completed my training in year 2000 at Charlotte Maxeke Hospital. I then continued to serve there as a qualified Clinical Technologist.

Duties and responsibilities were as follows:

• Preparation of dialysis machines for all dialysis treatments.
• Connection and disconnection of dialysis patients'.
• Provide education to patients' on their dialysis treatment and possible complications, how to maintain their health on treatment and at home.
• Assisted in training of new students during their practicals.
