• Assist Manager with managerial duties on scheduled rotations or as required
• Attend training, seminars, workshops related to job specifications.
• Train new employees and complete competency record when required.
• Routine and efficient performance of a wide range of routine diagnostic tests.
• Maintenance of laboratory equipment involved with the above tests
• Troubleshooting of equipment to the job holders capabilities. This is done by deciding on the appropriate action for the specific problem.
• Validation of test results and reporting of these results on the work system.
• Preparation of reagents for use on analyzers and in tests according to the manufacturer’s instruction.
• Adhering to all methods in SOP’s, Work and all safety precautions as set in the Safety Manual
• General housekeeping of the laboratory
• Liaising with company representatives and service engineers in respect to technical information, problems and troubleshooting.
• Ensuring that daily quality control testing is performed on the instruments and test kits.
• Recording of laboratory and equipment temperatures
• Effectively manage and organize laboratory.
• Monitor and improve work flow patterns and turnaround times
• Ensure that policies are adhered to.
• Submit management reports as required
• Apply effective problem solving skills
• Manage stock efficiently
• Liaise with clients for results delivery and queries
• Manage EQA(External Quality Assurance) and IQA(Interlab Quality Assurance)
