  • Weekly safety Audits to sites which are to be handed to the Chief safety officer every month in the monthly meetings. Client and/or Client Contract to be called on during each contract visit.
  • Comprehensive check of all PPE, equipment, chemicals and their usage, uniforms and operational procedures during site visits. Training and guidance to be given when and where required.
  • Adherence of all close off and deadline dates as prescribed by the Company and as may be determined by Senior Management from time to time.
  • In addition to point 2, a spot check on quality (standards) of sites daily including. Results of spot checks must be submitted to the contact manager.

  • Conduct and communicate risk assessments on sites to ensure compliance with company standards, which involves review of all SOPs, Method Statements (in the event there changes on applicable Code of Practice) including Job Risk Analysis.
  • Checking that all paperwork with regards to safety is valid for example letter of good standing, MSDS's, medicals, inductions etc.
  • Ensure that all employees comply with Occupational disease regulations including medical reviews and Hep A.
  • Ensuring that managers do weekly PTO's and VFL's on site and ensuring that managers do PTO's on all employees within that specific area.
  • Doing PTO's and VFL's on site (at least 4 a month) and submit to chief safety officer.
  • Sending out safety meetings (slides and flashes) and ensuring that managers communicate the meetings to the employees.
  • Ensuring that weekly safety meetings are held and that daily toolbox topics are discussed on site.
  • Monthly auditing of safety files and ensuring that site managers keep files updated.
  • Creating of safety files for places that don't have safety files and reconcile against labour compliment.
  • Compiling target reports and safety stats monthly and send to chief safety officer.
  • Taking safety officer invoice to the client and accountant on site to be signed and taking signed invoice to the contract manager to submit to Rustenburg head office.
  • Checking that all site storage facilities are up to standard and that all necessary documentation is inside the facility as required.
  • Communication of all Companies standards and procedures to the employees and ensuring that the procedures are signed off by the employees.
  • Taking corrective action and providing training for employees who don't comply with the safety standards of the company.
