Mmaphadi Motholo

I am a dedicated teacher with experience in Foundation Phase teaching, higher education lecturing, and academic support. I have taught multiple subjects across various languages and served in leadership roles such as a task team member for Coding and Robotics piloting and an elected School Governing Body representative. As a lecturer and facilitator, I have contributed to teacher development initiatives like the Family Maths Project and community-based research through COMBER. I am passionate about advancing early mathematics education, Indigenous KNowledge, and digital literacy in diverse educational contexts.

• 2025: Co-authored a peer-reviewed chapter to an AOSIS book on Education for Sustainable Development.
• 2025: Presented at the Education Association of South Africa (EASA) Conference.
• 2025: Abstract accepted for chapter in peer-reviewed book in collaboration with UNISA, Harvard, and NWU.
• June 2025: Accepted for University of Johannesburg SLP: Coding and Robotics
• 2024: Presented research findings at the COMBER International Conference.
• 2024: Article accepted for Publication by the South African Journal of Education.
• 2024-2026: Facilitate teacher development workshops as part of the SANRAL-UFS Family Maths Project, training Grade 3 teachers in underperforming North West schools to teach mathematics using manipulatives.
• 2024: Completed Coding and Robotics training provided by Support Your School SA.
