Key Performance Areas

Ø Identification of potential situations that could lead to injury/disability/death of staff member/ visitors

Ø Assisting in development and compilation of manuals, policies and protocol that will be included in the rolling out of health and safety training, orientation and induction programme.

Ø Ensuring the delegate management and administrative functions are carried out

Ø Participate in safety audits for the institution in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety act, 85 of 1993.

Ø Ensure compliance with KZN Health and Safety. Patience Right Charter

Ø Liaise with the inspector Dept. of Labour on Safety issues.

Ø Develop Health and Safety Policies and Procedures

Ø Meet COHSASA standards for Health and Safety.

Achievements

· I successfully drew the Disaster Management plan during Covid 19 period working hand in hand with district Safety Coordinator.

· Member of incident committee, Safety committee and Disaster committee

· Auditing of the institution during the pandemic ensuring compliance to OHS Act

Ensure that Health and Safety committee are functional

• Conducted job safety analysis and personal protective equipment analysis to identify hazards for elimination and select proper safety equipment to protect employees from hazards of job.
